S&W Redevelopment Receives 10th COC
S&W Redevelopment of North America, LLC (SWRNA) recently secured its 10th Certificate of Completion (COC) under New York State’s Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) for its site located in Farmington, New York. SWRNA acquired this 12.8 acre-former manufacturing facility in 2007. The prior use was a laminating operation which resulted in solvent contamination in groundwater.
SWRNA implemented a groundwater remediation strategy that included the injection of potassium permanganate into the groundwater which breaks down and extinguishes the solvent contamination. This method, known as In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO), was successful in remediating the groundwater and allowed SWRNA to complete remediation in only six months. The property is located on a busy arterial between Rochester and Canandaigua and will be redeveloped for commercial/office uses.
S&W Redevelopment is a brownfield redevelopment company that specializes in the acquisition and redevelopment of contaminated property. SWRNA also provides expert environmental consulting to developers, industries and municipalities across the State. SWRNA has been described as the most frequent user of the Brownfield Cleanup Program and has more COCs than any other single entity in the State.
