S&W Secures COC for Village of Antwerp ERP Site

S&W Redevelopment of North America, LLC (SWRNA) has secured a Certificate of Completion (COC) for the Village of Antwerp for their recently completed Environmental Restoration Program (ERP) project. The Village acquired the former Hibbard Gas Station site, located on Route 11 in the Village, through tax foreclosure in 2006. The site had been abandoned for over 15 years and the Village did not have the resources to perform the building demolition and clean up needed to put the property back into productive use. The Village entered the site into NYSDEC’s Environmental Restoration Program which provides 90% reimbursement to municipalities for the investigation and remediation of brownfield sites. The Village retained S&W Redevelopment as their environmental consultant to perform the work and take them through the program.

This COC represents only the second COC issued Statewide under the ERP since the program was modified in 2003. Working with NYSDEC, SWRNA was also able to achieve an unrestricted cleanup level for the site, the equivalent to the Brownfield Cleanup Program’s Track 1.

S&W Redevelopment is a brownfield redevelopment company specializing in the acquisition and redevelopment of contaminated property. SWRNA also provides expert environmental consulting services to developers, industries and municipalities and is currently working on four (4) other ERP sites. SWRNA is one of the most frequent users of the State’s brownfield programs, and this COC represents SWRNA’s 11th secured under the ERP and the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP).
